I'm a transplant to New Orleans, though I usually tell people I was just born in the wrong place by accident. During the Spring and Fall, I shoot a lot of great New Orleans weddings, then get a chance to travel and do administrative duties (sigh) during the little bit of winter and LOT of summer we get here. I'm very interested in shooting more live music and doing more environmental portraits in the near future, and have a couple of project ideas that I'm currently kicking around.
I'm a mostly self-taught photographer, though I have had the luck of finding many friends and mentors who have helped me become a better shooter. Growing up in a very artistic environment certainly had the most effect on my subconscious - in my immediate family we have a painter, photographer, sculptor, potter and a musician, and everyone enjoys secondary hobbies in other fields.
I also have a second career as a musician here in New Orleans, and have had the great luck of studying with some of the finest musicians here. Many of them are represented in my "Wedding Resources" links, and I urge everyone to support live music by hiring a band for your event instead of a DJ.
